Opened towards the end of 2000, Los Frailes is perhps the quirkiest of Havana's many heritage hotels. The building housing it was originally part of a monastery and this theme has been carried forward into the modern day hotel with staff all dressed in habits and monastic music often heard playing in the background. The main drawback of the hotel is that none of the standard rooms have external windows.
