Situated midway along the north coast and connected to the mainland by a giant causeway, the twin island resorts of Cayo Coco & Cayo Guillermo together form Cuba's latest beach development. Cayo Coco is sigificantly the larger of the 2 islands and has attracted the majority of the development. We would recommend combining the resort in a twin centre holiday with Havana, a 3 centre holiday with Trinidad or at the end of a fly drive itinerary.

Excursions

As with Varadero, clients looking for signs of the 'real' Cuba will be very disappointed. The nearest town is at Moron, approximately an hour's drive away, though even Moron has very little to offer in terms of historic or architectural sites. One popular excursion is the Boqueron Jeep Tour, full day tours which give clients an insight into the local province of Ciego de Avila exploring the region's traditions, culture and lifestyle. Excursions are also available to Trinidad and Santiago.

Food

Eating out on the island is almost entirely restricted to the individual hotels.

Getting There

There are reliable daily charter flights from Havana and to Cayo Coco. As part of the charter package clients will be collected (early in the morning) from their hotel and on arrival at Cayo Coco will be transferred to their individual hotels. The same principal applies on the return journey. Clients with a rental car can drive across the causeway from the mainland and drop their car in Cayo Coco. We are also able to offer private road transfers between Cayo Coco and both Sancti Spiritus and Trinidad.

Although there are now a number of hotels on the island we have restricted ourselves to what is the best hotel on the island, and one of the best value in Cuba, the Melia Cayo Coco.
