On a budget Holiday Ideas in Cuba Traveling 2017 and 2018 from VOYAGER TRAVEL

On a budget

Cuba is a very safe destination for the independently minded traveller but the island is large and there are logistical issues to consider in order to keep the cost down. Distances between places of interest can sometimes mean that a 4 or 5 hour road trip is required and Private Transfers become expensive.

At the moment Train travel is far too limited and unreliable so most of the itinerary suggestions here include pre-booked buses. There’s a network of Modern European style coaches operating to a loose timetable and serving a number of the principal towns. The transport infrastructure in Cuba is still developing and in some places the only means of getting from A to B is with a private transfer.

Accommodation suggestions on all of the itineraries in this section are based on budget hotels or private casa’s but you can of course tailor any of the ideas to suit your plans. All of our Casa’s have private bathrooms.

Some of the longer itinerary ideas also include a few days at a beach resort. Casa’s are not allowed to operate in beach areas so if you are looking for a few days relaxation at the beach it will almost certainly need to be at an All-Inclusive beach hotel.
