Historic Towns Holiday Ideas in Cuba Traveling 2017 and 2018 from VOYAGER TRAVEL

Historic Towns

With a length of around 1300 Kms Cuba is by far the largest island in the Caribbean and only those with around 3 weeks or more can properly see the all of the principal historic towns of Cuba at any sort of leisurely pace.

There is a suggested 21 night itinerary featuring many of the principal heritage towns and this can be tailored to suit the time you have available but also in this section are a number shorter itineraries featuring the more important Cuban towns in various parts of the island.

Havana is featured in all of the itineraries and due to the late afternoon arrival of most flights from Europe a minimum 3 night stay is recommended. The heritage towns of Havana, Cienfuegos and Trinidad make an interesting and varied 7 night option and for those with 10 nights or more the lovely small colonial town of Sancti Spiritus and a drive through the Escambray mountains to Che Guevara’s memorial in Santa Clara is recommended.

The east of the island is very rugged and more tropical with large swaths of forest and offers some excellent scenery as well as the chance to visit Cuba’s second city of Santiago along with a number of other distinctly quintessentially Cuban towns. Because of travel logistics it’s difficult to see both Havana and the eastern heritage towns in anything less than 10 or 11 nights.

All our holidays are entirely tailor made and any of the suggested itineraries can be tailored with different durations and a few days relaxation at one of Cuba’s beach resorts at the end if you wish.
